Client Stories

Reviews and project stories from teams who worked with Desktop Leafpoint on embedded software delivery and firmware advisory.

Evidence from product teams who commissioned Desktop Leafpoint for programming consulting — embedded delivery and firmware advisory. Names of companies are generalized where NDAs require it; details of the work are specific.

We brought Desktop Leafpoint in for a Firmware Delivery Partnership on a Cortex-M33 sensor gateway. They owned the OTA staging bugs we had been bouncing between teams for two sprints. The week-four demo still needed a retry on one regional APN — they documented it instead of calling the release green.
Nattapong S. · Firmware lead, industrial IoT OEM
The advisory retainer forced us to write down our brown-out recovery story before we ordered the next spin. Mild annoyance at the homework; gratitude when the contract manufacturer asked exactly those questions.
Elena V. · Engineering manager, consumer device startup
Bring-up week in our Bangkok lab: first articles on Monday, UART console talking by Tuesday afternoon. They left a checklist our junior engineer could finish without guessing pinmux again.
Kittisak R. · Hardware project manager
Architecture assessment was blunt about our dual-bank update design. We did not enjoy reading it. We also did not brick a pilot fleet, which was the point.

Project story: Hat Yai pair week on a stalled driver

A regional appliance maker had a new Wi-Fi module that passed the module vendor’s demos but failed under their own power profile. Desktop Leafpoint ran a short delivery partnership focused only on the radio bring-up and logging. Three findings mattered: a regulator that sagged during TX peaks, a missing wake handshake in the host firmware, and a CI job that never ran the long soak test.

Outcome after five weeks: soak test green for the agreed duration, notes handed to the in-house owner, and the wider application firmware left untouched. The client kept the radio work; we did not expand scope into their UI layer.

Project story: advisory during a hiring surge

A firmware manager needed to hire two embedded engineers while shipping a constrained OTA. Through the Firmware Team Advisory retainer, Desktop Leafpoint redesigned the live-board interview and sat in on calibration sessions. One candidate who looked strong on algorithms struggled with a simple DMA race; another who spoke quietly fixed it in twenty minutes. The manager hired the quieter candidate and kept the advisory through the first two releases.
